Caron Sandefur – Gardendale (In-Person and Telehealth)Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker - Supervisor, PIP

Born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, Ms. Sandefur moved to Alabama shortly after earning her master’s degree in social work from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 1991. Married with two grown sons, she has always been passionate about her family, faith, and serving others.

Caron brings over 30 years of social work experience, beginning with supporting families of developmentally challenged children—a role she truly loved. She has also worked as an adolescent therapist in a residential treatment center, helping youth navigate struggles ranging from ADHD and anxiety to depression and grief. Caron has facilitated groups for survivors of sexual abuse and those experiencing complex grief. As the director of an independent living program for teens aging out of the foster care system, she developed a deep understanding of trauma and the strength required for resilience.

More recently, as Clinical Director of the Children’s Aid Society of Alabama, Caron has developed insight into the complexities of adoption as a lifelong journey for the entire family.

Life can be hard. Caron offers a safe, compassionate space to share your story and explore new ways of coping and growing. She understands the courage it takes to reach out and ask for help.

Outside the office, Caron enjoys cooking, crafting, traveling, and trying new things.
