Martha is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 30 years of experience. She has worked with non-profit organizations, family preservation, in-patient and outpatient psychiatry, individual therapy and was the co-founder and regional manager of an outpatient group therapy program. She graduated from Birmingham-Southern College (1992) with a Sociology degree and then went to the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, for her master’s degree in social work (1994).
Martha believes in providing space for clients to delve into the depth and complexity of their issues. She uses a compassionate client-centered approach to support clients on their journey toward healing and growth. Using a mind, body, spirit framework, Martha integrates evidence-based therapies to tailor treatment that meets each client’s unique needs. She believes in fostering a supportive environment where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings without judgment. By inspiring clients to know and share their authentic selves, Martha can grasp the nuance of your emotions for personal growth.
She is passionate about empowering clients to develop coping strategies, enhance self-awareness, and achieve their personal goals. In addition to her clinical work, she engages in professional development to stay current with the latest research and best practices in mental health care.
Outside the therapy room, Martha enjoys laughing, traveling, reading, exercising, and watching movies. She is a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and dog mom. These roles enrich her understanding of the human experience and foster a well-rounded approach to therapy.
