*Please refer to your insurance carrier for coverage and benefits.

*Copays and deductibles are run first thing in the morning with the card on file provided by the client. This is done so the client can be contacted before their session if there is an issue with their card. Please note that on the day of a no-show or late cancellation, the client’s card will be run the day of the missed appointment.  If you are facing financial hardship please contact the billing department as soon as possible so that a payment plan can be put in place prior to the card being charged.

Client Expectations & Financial Responsibility

Once you make your appointment, you will be asked for your insurance type, contract/member ID number, your name and date of birth, and the insurance holder’s name and date of birth (if applicable). We will need a front and back copy of your insurance card as well as a copy of your driver’s license or a driver’s license of the parent if the client is a minor.

You will also receive an email with a link to our “client portal” to complete the initial paperwork. We aim to confirm your insurance benefits within 48 hours, once we have received all of the information. It is very important for all information on the portal to be completed 24 hours prior to your appointment. This allows the therapist to prepare for the session.

Most of our therapists accept insurance. The insurance accepted does vary based on the therapist. We cannot guarantee insurance coverage until they have actually provided payment, as insurance companies do not guarantee what they quote to us as accurate until we bill for a service and are paid.

Please keep in mind that not all insurances cover marriage/non-family sessions. Any non-covered service is your financial responsibility. Please check with your insurance company on if marriage/joint non-family sessions are covered by your specific policy.

We accept BCBS, Blue Choice, BCBS Federal, New Directions, Viva, American Behavioral, Behavioral Health Systems, All Kids, United Healthcare, Medicaid, Medicare, and out of state BCBS. We are sometimes able to do case agreements so keep this in mind if we do not currently take your insurance. Cash, check, and credit/debit cards are all acceptable forms of payment. Payments will be charged to your card on file the day of your appointment so that your balance is kept at zero unless you decide to pay with cash or a check.

We will verify your benefits but please keep in mind that sometimes we are misquoted benefits and we don’t always know what portion insurance will pay until we receive the first payment. Ultimately, it is the responsibility of the client to know what their insurance covers. It is also the responsibility of the client to make sure we have a referral on file from your doctor if your insurance requires this.

Please look at your therapists’ page to see their rates for service. Please note that a credit card will be required to schedule appointments. This is kept on file in the event of late cancelation or no show appointment. We require a minimum of a 24-hour notice for cancellations. We excuse medical emergencies but the individual must meet the requirements for our no show/late cancelation policy as outlined in their initial paperwork.

Good Faith Estimate for Healthcare Goods and Services 2024

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.

Under the law, healthcare providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
  • Make sure your healthcare provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit
  • www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call (205) 644-1166.
