Play Therapy
Play therapy is a mode of therapy that taps into the child’s natural language of play. Play is known as a natural way that children communicate what is happening in their external and internal worlds. This method of therapy can be used for children and adolescents of all ages. Play Therapy provides a way for children to express their experiences and feelings and process through life events through an imaginative self-expressive process in the context of a trusted relationship with a registered therapist. Using a child’s natural play allows the opportunity for a child to take charge of their world in a way that cannot be done in their real life. Play therapy can help children communicate and promote learning and self-discovery. Play therapy is a natural way for a child to express themselves emotionally, mentally, and physically when they may not be able to verbally.
