Julia Gray, LICSW, is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker
She is passionate about helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and move toward healing, growth, and greater well-being. She takes an integrative, holistic approach to counseling, recognizing that each person’s experiences, relationships, environment, and strengths all play an important role in the therapeutic process.
Julia believes that a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation for meaningful change. She strives to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel comfortable exploring their concerns, identifying their goals, and developing practical tools for lasting success. Her approach is collaborative and strengths-based, empowering clients to build on their existing abilities while fostering autonomy and self-determination.
She is trained in several evidence-based treatment approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Julia also incorporates Trauma-Informed Care into all aspects of her work and is committed to providing an affirming and inclusive space for individuals from all backgrounds. She is LGBTQ+ friendly, gender-affirming, and sex-positive.
Julia earned her Associate Degree in Sociology and Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. She later received her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Alabama in 2016. Prior to joining Integrative Health Services, Julia worked as an individual and family therapist in both inpatient and outpatient settings, gaining experience supporting clients with a wide range of mental health and life challenges.
Her professional interests include substance use disorders, co-occurring disorders, dual diagnosis, medical and oncology-related trauma, workplace stress, toxic work environments, and trauma recovery. She welcomes the opportunity to work with anyone who is ready to seek support and create positive change in their life.
Outside of the office, Julia enjoys listening to music, planting flowers, and spending time with her family and dogs.
